Assistant Coach (two positions)
With hockey or ball hockey coaching qualifications and experience you must be able to prepare and coach athletes selected to the 2009 Women’s Team Canada, and design a technical curriculum for the World Championships in Plzen, Cech Republic in June 2009.
International experience is an advantage but is not essential. You are expected to have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people. You must also have highly effective organizational and planning skills and be able to balance a variety of demands while working with tight deadlines. You must have the ability to take directives and work closely with the Head Coach. You have a strong interest and personal commitment to high performance athletic development. As a team player, you need to be flexible and have the ability to motivate and inspire those around you to achieve success.
Team Specialist
Prior to the 2009 World Championships in Plzen, Cech Republic, you must plan and prepare equipment stock for repairs and modifications. At the tournament, you must ensure the dressing rooms are properly organized and the players are aware of rules and procedures, transport, repair and maintain all team equipment, and cooperate with the coaching staff in terms of pre-game, game and post-game procedures in the dressing room and on the player’s bench. You must also be prepared to help with other duties throughout the tournament to meet player needs, such snack preparation, bench set-up, uniform repair, team trainer assistance, special purchases, etc. You are required to lift heavy bags.
Prior experience is an advantage but not necessary. You are expected to work in conjunction with the Head Coach and General Manager. You have exceptional planning, organizational and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to high performance athletic development. A Human Kinetics university degree and a ball hockey background would be considered an asset. As a team player, you need to be flexible and have the ability to motivate and inspire those around you to achieve success. |
